FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

"Who are these cards meant for?"
The cards are for anyone seeking a simple way to begin or sustain a spiritual or self-healing practice. You can be one book in or fifty books deep into mindfulness and spirituality, looking to expand awareness, be more present and "unstuck." Universal by design, the Subtle Ground Cards integrate multiple philosophies and tools into one tangible system that can be used daily.

"Do I have to draw all 4 cards?"
No. Similar to holding a single pose in yoga, the cards can be drawn individually to spark reflection or set new intentions. The 4-card system is like moving through a flow of yoga poses, strengthening multiple areas of your spiritual practice in one dynamic sequence. Each card inspires or supports the others.

"What happens if I draw the cards out of order?"
Since our energy isn't linear, it doesn't really matter the order you draw or read the cards. Ultimately, they create a 'contemplative sandbox' for you to observe and release.

"Do I have to go through the entire deck for it to work?"
It's key to understand that when it comes to spiritual guidance, experience is what makes it real and practice is what makes it realized. The deck is designed to be an easy tool that enables everyday practice. The cards will take on new meaning or reveal new things as you evolve and expand. Keep in mind that with over 800,000 card combinations, reading them once a day everyday would take over 10,000 lifetimes — it might be a while before you go through the "entire" deck as intended.

"How do I know it's working?"
With or without the cards, everyone experiences different things at different stages of their unfoldment. A common experience is an opening from within — sometimes sudden, sometimes big, sometimes subtle, and sometimes uncomfortable. Along with this sense of growing spaciousness, you may notice a resistance to the letting go of old beliefs and patterns — this too is part of the process. In fact, it is the process. When this happens, it is important to suspend the need to be "right" and simply observe as the energies move and release. A genuine sign of "success" is having a more frequent and compassionate response to look inward without judgment or expectation. This isn't a card game based on winning or competing with others.

"Can the cards be explored as a group?"
Yes, absolutely. Holding space for each other is a very powerful and humbling experience. Naturally, you'll want to share with people whose resonance connects with your level of openness and curiousity. After all, the box is designed to sit on your coffee table. It's bound to spark conversation.

"What is the recommended time to spend with the cards?"
More important than how much time you give the cards is how open and sincere you are when using them. You can read them quickly and let them "sit with you" for the day. You can draw the cards for intention-setting in the morning or clearing in the evening. You can sit and reflect for as long as you feel meaningfully engaged. Journalling is also highly encouraged. Over time, the impact of the cards is less in what each card evokes and more in seeing your Self in a higher and brighter light.

"Is this like my aunt's Tarot and oracle deck?"
Yes and no. Yes, in that it offers universal guidance. No, in that it doesn't contain esoteric imagery or symbolism that needs to be decoded. It's a modern application of ancient wisdom.
